Oklahoma State Highway Patrol responded to a one car accident near Nance Landscaping on Highway 283 Monday. The accident happened north of Altus at 11:10 a.m., shortly after sleet and snow began falling. According to a Highway Patrol officer at the scene, the driver lost control of the vehicle due to icy conditions and went off the road, driving into the ditch. The unidentified driver was taken by ambulance to the hospital to evaluate complaints of neck and back pain.
