Jackson County Commissioners held a regular meeting, 9 a.m., Monday, March 11, at the Commissioners’ Office of the County Courthouse, and approved a recommendation to accept the resignation letter of Louise Snodgrass. Snodgrass resigned, per letter dated March 4, as a member of the Board of Trustees for Jackson County Memorial Hospital Authority.The Commissioners then approved the appointment of Kirk Butler to fill in the unexpired term to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees.
Commissioners’ also approved declaration and disposal of surplus equipment from the Jackson County Health Department. The items included five miscellaneous computers, one vacuum cleaner, and two typewriters to be junked.
Other items approved on the consent agenda include minutes from the previous meeting and a report from the Election Office to reimburse the General Fund for $9.53. Jackson County Treasurer Rene Howard presented reports from the Oklahoma Tax Commission for County Sales Tax for $111,839 and County Use Tax for $3825, for the month of January. Howard indicated that County Use tax was down 27.9% from the previous month, and County Sales Tax down 6.5%.
Commissioners also approved blanket purchase orders for Dolese Bros. Co., for District #3, Assessors Office, Sheriff’s Department, District #3 Drug Court, and the Health Department for a purchase at Walmart.
New business pertained to possible replacement of worn out chairs in the Courthouse lobby.
After claims were approved, the regular meeting of the Jackson County Commissioners adjourned.
