Larry King, 66, of Moore, formally of Altus ,went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sept. 6, 2012. Larry was born on Sept. 16, 1945, in Altus to Ernest and Minerva King. He grew up in and around the Altus area attending Olustee and Altus schools. He married Marsha Ladd on Aug. 2, 1969. He obtained a Masters degree in English and Speech from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. He taught 33 years at Altus High School and later taught at Altus Junior College. Larry enjoyed riding motorcycles in his younger years. He enjoyed going to church and most of all playing with his granddaughter who he loved to call “papa’s little princess”.

Larry is survived by his wife, Marsha of the home; son, Jason and his wife Jamie and granddaughter Chloe Joanne of Moore; sister, Patsy Merry of Allen, Texas; and in-laws, James and Sammie Ladd, Larry and Bonita Shelton, Ronald Ladd; and numerous nieces and nephews of Altus.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held at Bethesda Assembly of God Church, 3101 S.W. 89th Street in Oklahoma City, on Monday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Craig Dacus and Charles Jeffries officiating. Interment will follow to Moore Cemetery. Visitation will be at John M. Ireland Funeral Home, 120 S. Broadway in Moore, Sat., Sept. 8 from 3 to 9 p.m., and Sun. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be made in Larry’s honor to Ross Hospice at 3009 N.W. 63rd, Suite 82 in Oklahoma City, OK 73116, who were such a blessing during this time.
