Shirley Ann Polk was born to Archie and Florence (Hullsey) Woodall in Little Rock, Ark., on Jan. 31, 1941, and departed this life in Snyder on Feb. 23, 2013.
Shirley married Robert Polk on July 9, 1955, and he passed away in June 2000. She was a CNA, Medicine Nurse and an Intake Councilor for New Hope in Mangum. She was a member of Washington Street Baptist Church of Hobart. She enjoyed reading the Bible, reading Christian books, watching old movies and spending time with her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Richard Boon Polk; four brothers, Larry, Jim, Delbert and Kenneth Woodall; and a sister, Levita Callwell.
Survivors include two sons, David Polk and wife Pamela of Altus, and Wayne Polk and wife Laura of Hobart; a daughter, Pam Polk of Hobart; a sister, Clarisse Slay of Fayetteville, Ala.; eight grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
