J.M. Cope, also known as Santa, was a well-known and beloved resident of Frederick. He portrayed Santa in Frederick and the surrounding communities for over 30 years. Cope passed away just days after his 98th birthday. He will always be fondly remembered as Santa to the residents of Frederick and beyond.

Their Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program has IRS-trained volunteers who will be available to help you through this tax season at Western Oklahoma State College, 2801 N. Main Street, Altus, Room A-5, beginning Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024.

SWOSU hosts Oklahoma Humanities “Let’s Talk About It” series

The Al Harris Library and the Department of Language and Literature at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) announced today that it will host a series of discussions of science fiction books written by women: “Speculative Women, Future Bodies.” The first of these events will be held on January 25 at 7 p.m. in Al Harris Library’s 2nd-floor instructional room.
