The Altus Police Department investigated a rape allegation in 2017 but until now, no arrests had been made. According to court documents, Javier Castillo- Arias was named as a suspect when his DNA was discovered in a closed rape case out of Odessa, Texas from 2015.

Megan Mitchell from Frederick High School and Trenton Carman from Altus High School have been selected to attend Youth Tour – a weeklong, all-expenses-paid trip to Washington D.C. sponsored by Southwest Rural Electric.

ave y’all ever been asked to be on the lookout for something that should be coming your way and you just flat out missed it? I recall many years ago there were commercials on tv about something called BECO coming to Wichita Falls. They kept saying that it was coming, it’s gonna be here, etc. Then, all of a sudden, one day, we missed it. I turned out that what seemed like an awesome thing that several folks invested in was actually a scam. Who does that? Who goes all in to fool and steal from good people? Don’t dwell on such things.
