The Western Oklahoma State College Alumni Association is proud to announce that Brenda Hickerson has been selected as the 2024 Alumni Association Hall of Fame Inductee. This award is presented to former students of Altus Junior College / Western Oklahoma State College who, through leadership, character, and hard work, have made an exceptional contribution in their field, their community and at WOSC.

Main Street Altus, partnered with City of Altus Parks and Recreation, are pleased to host the 25th annual Rock and Rumble event that is scheduled for May 3-4. This year’s special 25th anniversary event pays homage to the hit movie Smokey and the Bandit, starring Burt Reynolds and Jerry Reed. You won’t want to miss it.

Recently, hundreds of people visited the State Capitol for Aerospace Day. This annual event highlights the significance of the industry within Oklahoma and showcases the achievements, innovations, and contributions of the sector to our economy.

Two Jackson County students were honored by the Oklahoma State University Ferguson College of Agriculture with academic scholarship support for the 2024-2025 academic year. These scholarships are part of the more than $1.8 million that students receive from the Ferguson College and its academic departments.
