Cameron University Alumni Association seeks nominations for annual awards

Do you know a Cameron University alumni or faculty member who is deserving of recognition? Since 1979, the Cameron University Alumni Association (CUAA) has honored more than 200 individuals with awards honoring Distinguished Alumni, Outstanding Young Alumni and Faculty Hall of Fame. The CUAA is seeking nominations for the 2024 awards, which will continue to celebrate alumni whose accomplishments honor the legacy of Cameron University and to recognize faculty members who have a positive impact on student lives.

Trombone recital to feature guest performer Philip Martinson

The Cameron University Department of Art, Music and Theatre Arts will present guest artist Philip Martinson on trombone on Thursday, October 26. The recital will take place at 7:30 p.m. in McCutcheon Recital Hall. The recital will feature the works of composer Brian Sadler, a Musician First Class and trombonist/ arranger in the U.S. Navy Fleet Bands. Dr. Lucas Kaspar, an assistant professor of music at CU, will join Martinson for two selections. All works on the recitals will use pre-recorded accompaniment, including natural and synthetic sounds.

The Oklahoma State Department of Education spoke today to representatives from across the nation on the success of Superintendent Walters’ first of its kind Teacher Signing Bonus program. This program is the gold standard for innovation, problem-solving, and solution-oriented approaches to address the teacher shortage nationally.
