CU Be a Therapist will provide information about becoming a mental health professional

Interested in entering the challenging yet rewarding field of mental health? Cameron University’s CU Be a Therapist, a virtual information session, will present information on how a Master of Arts in Mental Health degree can lead to licensure as a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT) or a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) on Thursday, November 16, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Altus Public Schools received $63,500 in TSET grants

In November of 2022, Altus Public Schools was awarded a total of $63,500 by the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) grant through the state of Oklahoma. The TSET grant promotes and supports healthy behaviors. It is offered to school districts that implement the best and most promising practices in tobacco-free environments, nutrition, physical activity, and employee wellness, stated by Oklahoma.gov. Every Altus Public Schools site was awarded funding to complete projects prioritizing the well-being of their students.

Women’s Track Booster Club set to host annual Santa Run

After a one-year hiatus, the Altus High School Women’s Track Booster Club is scheduled to host the ninth annual Great Santa Run Dec. 9, 2023, at the Altus City Park. The race will begin near the Altus Swimming complex. The run will take runners around Christmas in the Park and into the areas around the High School.
