Recently, the board of the Altus Community Foundation (ACF) entered into a partnership with the Communities Foundation of Oklahoma (CFO).
The partnership will provide the ACF assistance with grant oversight and administration, marketing, planned donations and foundation management.
The Altus Community Foundation (ACF) has been around for decades.
Under leadership of the current board, ACF is making strides to have a greater impact on the community.
The mission of the Altus Community Foundation is to improve the quality of life in the Altus community by building permanent endowments and providing philanthropic leadership that enables citizens to make a lasting investment in the community.
The current ACF board is composed of Rhet Johnson, Gary Jones, Rodger Kerr (Treasurer), Jon Kidwell, Chris Riffle (Vice President), Emily Smith (Secretary), Chad Wiginton (President), and Jed Winters.
In 2021, ACF partnered with the Altus Chamber of Commerce for the "Fall into Giving Gala" which raised almost $45,000.
Since that time, ACF has sponsored Leadership Altus Class VII and made a significant contribution to the Altus Sign Project.
The first sign has been placed at the eastern entrance to town. The second sign is expected to go up on the north end of town in the spring.
With the addition of Altus, CFO provides services to communities in 46 Oklahoma counties.
As part of its 30th-anniversary celebration, CFO will be matching newly established endowments at a rate of 10%.
ACF requires a minimum donation of $25,000 to establish an endowment.
At this time, the Altus Community Foundation has invested $17,000 with CFO, with an initial goal of raising an additional $8,000.
The funds generated from the endowment will be used to support worthwhile projects in the Altus community, and projects will be determined via a grant application process.
To donate via check, please send your check made payable to Communities Foundation of Oklahoma with “Altus Community Foundation Endowment Fund” written in the memo line to Communities Foundation of Oklahoma, P.O. Box 21210, Oklahoma City, OK 73156.
