Altus Fire, Police and EMS to commemorate 20th anniversary of 9/11

Do you remember where you were on Tuesday September 11, 2001? Many Americans do, because they were directly affected by the loss of a loved one.

Some as passengers in the airplanes, some as innocent by-standers inside the buildings and some as first responders who ran into the Twin Towers in downtown New York City.

If you saw those images on live television, you cannot get that memory out of your mind.

However, we have a whole new generation that has been born since that fateful day. For this reason, we can stop honoring and remembering those who gave their lives that day.

During the Jackson County Ministerial Alliance Pray Around Altus event the Altus Fire and Police Departments as well as the Jackson County EMS will commemorate this solemn occasion with a special 9/11 Memorial Service.

The community is invited to be a part of this service. Local first responders will be recognized and a moment of silence for those who gave their lives on September 11 will be observed.

The Pray Around Altus Event and the 9/11 Memorial will be at the Jackson County Courthouse at 10 AM on Saturday September 11, 2021. For more information, please call 580-482-3377 Ext 104.
