The Jackson County Health Department will be hosting a 12-week Tai Chi class at the Altus Public Library, 421 N. Hudson, beginning Monday, Sept. 9, at 10:30 a.m.
Tai Chi is a non-combative form of self defense. There is no aggression involved and you won’t be hurt or hurt anyone else.
What it does do is help you retain or regain your self-balance by improving your posture, balance and self-confidence. It’s particularly beneficial to senior citizens.
The health department offers the 12-week instructional course a few times a year. The next one starts Monday.
If you’re interested, meet at the Library, at the given time. You can also call (580) 477-2890 for more information or to register. Even if the class is full, organizers ask that you attend.
Instructors include April Colom, Carmen Ward, Al Messerly and Jon Kidwell.
