Suspect allegedly pursues, fires gun at two people

Kaleb T. Stidman, 22, Altus faces two felony counts of shooting with intent to kill following an incident on Wednesday, Aug. 4.

Stidman allegedly fired a 9mm handgun at two people with the intent to kill.

Bond was set at $100,000.

The alleged shooting occurred at the end of a series of events involving multiple people.

Altus Police responded to a call shortly after midnight and spoke with two witnesses.

They told police that they had been pursued on Falcon Road and described the make, model and color.

To shake off the aggressive pursuit, the driver of the car tried to turn around in the parking lot of Pear Tree Apartments but was blocked, states the police report.

He then drove off the roadway onto a lot in the 1700 block of Falcon Road.

Both the passenger and driver reported that a man unknown to them approached their car and spoke to them after the chase ended.

The driver stated, “he then accelerated and attempted to leave the area and the male then began shooting at them,” reads the affidavit.

The passenger reportedly told police that “she heard the gunshots and could see the flame from the muzzle of the gun.”

Police found four bullet holes in the car the victim was driving and found four shell casings on the ground.

Witness testimony of other people involved in an incident before the chase led police to a home on Jupiter, where he was arrested and taken to jail.

The firearm used in the alleged incident was discovered in Stidman’s vehicle.

The probable cause affidavit states that a driver of a second vehicle might be involved in the car chase.
