Anne Montgomery (Tomlinson) Arthur died in Granbury, Texas on January 13, 2024. A memorial service will be held at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury at 2:00 on Saturday, February 3, 2024.

Anne was born to Milton and Beth Tomlinson on July 10, 1940, in Frederick, Oklahoma. She graduated from Frederick High School, class of 1958. In 1962, she received a bachelor’s degree in music from Newcomb College at Tulane University in New Orleans. At Newcomb, she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, continuing the legacy of her three aunts. Anne also studied abroad in 1960-1961 at the University of Paris. Later, she received a master’s degree in French from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.

Anne married the love of her life, Lynvol Joe Arthur, on February 28, 1965, in Frederick. Anne and Lynvol lived in Fort Worth, Dallas, Plano, Glen Rose, and Granbury.

Anne is survived by her children Illayna Arthur, Garrett Arthur and his wife Amy; her grandchildren Grayson Miller, Fiona Arthur, and Emmett Arthur; and her brothers Richard Tomlinson, Rawdon Tomlinson and his wife Karen, and Scott Tomlinson and his wife Mary Ann.
