Visitation will take place on Monday September 4, 2023 from 6p-8p at Sullivan Funeral Home. Gerald was born July 2, 1933 in Olustee, OK to Needham and Beulah Drury. He married Sandra Joy Ingle on August 25, 1956 in Olustee and they established their home in Altus, OK.

He worked for 34 years for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and also farmed raising wheat, cotton, and cattle. Gerald and Joy added two sons to the family in 1961 and 1963. He taught them both how to drive pickups and tractors at a very young age. They had many years of wonderful experiences and memories on the farm. He taught them how to work, play and love their families. He and his wife also owned and operated rental apartments in Blair, OK until moving to Duncan, OK in 1979 where he worked for ODOT as Assistant Resident Engineer before retiring in 1986. Gerald and Joy spent many enjoyable years traveling in their motorhome, making many lasting friendships along the way. His favorite hobby was sitting around a big campfire telling stories with his old buddies.

Gerald was known for being quite the character and would always leave you with a smile. Gerald is survived by his sons: Kevin and wife Kristie Drury of Mustang, OK and Kent and wife Shana Drury of Vernon, TX; his grandchildren Spencer Drury of Oklahoma City, OK, Kelly and husband Emol Edwards of Oklahoma City, OK, Cassie and husband JB Swetland, Yukon, OK, Kyle and wife Kelly Drury of Electra, TX, Koby and wife Elizabeth Drury of Lubbock, TX, and Garrett Munson of Vernon, TX.

He also leaves behind great grandchildren Ayden, Bryleigh, Paisley, Gracee, and Olive. A very special thank you to his caregivers Jamie Pring and Alice Dahlby for the many years of love, compassion, and loyal care.
