Ruth Louise (Jones) O’Neal, 100, passed away December 25, 2023 in Dallas Texas. She was born April 24, 1923 in Altus Oklahoma to Clarence Charlie Lee and Edith (Mackey) Jones who preceded her in death.

She was married to Steve T. O’Neal, who preceded her in death, for 64 years. An accomplished violinist, Ruth worked as an operating room nurse at Baylor Hospital, as well as joining Steve in opening a franchise Richardson Root Beer Stand on Garland Road in their early marriage.

Her beloved daughter Shelley Eileen (O’Neal) Gilmore passed away January 8, 2024. Ruth is survived by her sonin- law, Eric Gilmore; granddaughter, Shannon Gilmore; great granddaughter, Ava Harris; and several distant cousins who remember Ruth as intelligent, talented, hardworking and fun-loving.
